Life for a Young Lawyer

15 October 2010 by Tina

Tina talks to some young lawyers at Barker Gotelee to find out what made them choose the law as a career.

Except when I needed professional advice I have never had the chance to speak to a solicitor, so I grabbed the chance of an interview with some young lawyers, Suzanne and Prasan, at Barker Gotelee of Martlesham Heath to find out about what they do and what made them choose the law as a career.  I was amazed at the variety of work on offer and that different work can suit people with different personalities.  The academic work for a student is hard but once training is complete it sounds like there is work to suit a variety of interests and that there is never a dull moment.

LIONS Woodbridge - 10k Run at Martlesham

9 October 2010 by Dee

Dee interviews the organisers, helpers and competitors at Martlesham 10k Run organised by Woodbridge Lions.

Well perhaps the sun didn’t shine, but the rain held off long enough for 200 10k runners and 83 fun runners to take part in the annual Martlesham Heath10k and Fun Run. The event has become a significant part of both the Lions and athletics calendar. Some impressive times were recorded, and alongside the serious competition, the family participation in the Fun Run and amongst the spectators lent the event the atmosphere of a fete. From the proceeds, we will be making a donation to the Treehouse Appeal, the balance going to Lions’ Charities.

The results are now available here. We are also pleased this year to have had an official photographer for the event. The photographs can be found here www.fearlessfrog.co.uk.
